Entourage 2008 Configuration

Setting up Entourage 2008 to link to your departmental email account is simple. The steps below will work for systems both on and off campus.

  1. Start Entourage 2008 and select Account Settings... from the Entourage menu. In the Accounts panel select New Exchange. (Figure A)

  2. Next you are asked to enter your email address. Make sure the check box is checked for "My account is on an Exchange server" then click the button labeled "Configure Account Manually". (Figure B)

  3. Now you need to enter the information about your account. Using Figure C as a guide complete the fields on this dialog screen. Make sure you check the "This DAV service requires a secure connection (SSL)" checkbox.

  4. Click on the Advanced tab at the top of the dialog and complete this screen as shown in Figure D. Click the OK button then close the Account panel.

  5. You may receive an error message about not being able to establish a secure connection (Figure E). The connection will be encrypted still. This is a known issue with the current release of Entourage and hopefully will be fixed soon. If you don't see this error then Microsoft has fixed the problem.
