Apple Mail Configuration
Setting up Apple Mail to link to your departmental account is a simple process. Our perferred client for OSX is Entourage which is freely available to UF Staff and Faculty.
- Start Apple Mail and if this is the first account you have setup you will see the screen from Figure A. Fill in your name, email address and password for the email account then click the Continue button.

- The next step is to configure the incoming mail server settings. Select IMAP as the account type, enter a descriptive name for this account, set the Incoming Mail Server to mail.medicine.ufl.edu and enter your departmental login and password as shown in Figure B. Press Continue after you complete these fields.

- At this point you MAY see a warning message (Figure C) about the certificate not matching the server name. This is a known error and we are working on resolving it. If this message appears, click the Show Certificate button and the window will expand to what you should see in Figure D. Check the "Always trust 'medexchange01.ad.medicine.ufl.edu" when connecting to 'mail.medicine.ufl.edu'" and then click the Connect button. You will need to give the system your account password to make this change.

- Next you will enter the outgoing mail server information. Enter a descriptive name for this setting, set the Outgoing Mail Server address to "mail.medicine.ufl.edu", check both checkboxes on the dialog and then enter your department login and password as shown in Figure E. Once complete press Continue.

- At this point Apple Mail will finish its configuration and and you will see a summary screen as in Figure F. Click the Create button to continue into Apple Mail.

At this point your Apple Mail should be configured and ready to use. If you are having any problems please contact Computer Services for assistance.
