    2. When the certificate box opens there will be an Install Certificate button at the bottom right. Click on this button and use the default options for installing the certificate into your computer.

If you have any questions feel free to contact Computer Services.

2009-01-20 - Blackberry, iPhone and other Smart Phones

The department supports a number of different phones that allow you to access your email. But there are some that we can not support because of technical reasons with the device. Before purchasing a phone please read through our supported phone standards. We keep the list of supported phones updated as new models come out. If you have any questions feel free to contact Computer Services.

2008-08-20 - Email Server Migration FINISHED!

After almost a month of many late nights, all email accounts have been moved to the new server. If you are having problems accessing your account please contact Computer Services for assistance or check out the Email Configuration page for information on how to configure email clients.

2008-07-15 - Email Server Migration

During the next 2 months we will be migrating all the active email accounts from the old email server to the new Exchange 2007 server. This upgrade will happen in a division by division process. When your group is ready to be moved an email will be sent out to everyone letting them know what to do. Please contact Computer Services if you have any questions about this upgrade.

2008-01-22 - Email Certificate Update

On the evening of January 22nd, the security certificate used to encrypt the departmental email server was renewed to a new version. Normally this is not a problem but we have changed certificate providers and the new certificate requires an update be installed on any Windows Mobile phone accessing our server. If you have one of these phones and are not receiving your email please contact Computer Services for assistance.

2007-09-13 - Website Update

The Computer Services website has been updated to a slight newer format. The new format allows us to customize the information for each of the departments we are supporting. If you are looking for a feature that used to be listed on our site and can not locate it, please contact Computer Services for assistance.

2006-07-27 - Email Address Change

Effective July 27, 2006 everyone in the department has the new email address format attached to their email account. The format is firstname.lastname@medicine.ufl.edu. This new email address is in addition to the old email address style so faculty and staff can use either format for their communications.

If you would like to confirm any email address, in Outlook, open the Address Book, double click on a name and the contact’s properties window will appear. The E-Mail Addresses tab at the far right of the properties window has the employee’s available email addresses.

If two or more people in the department end up having the same first name and last name we will put a sequential number at the end of the newcomer’s last name. We will make allowances for long or hyphenated names as requested by the faculty or staff member. We will also allow the middle name to be used instead of the first name if requested. We will not allow nicknames to be used.

If you have any questions about this new email address format please let me know. And don't forget when you are getting business cards reprinted in the new UF format, change your email address over to the new format as well.
